1. Condolences – Herman “Bud” MacDonald

2. Tatamagouche Centre – Executive Director 

Tatamagouche Centre announces that Josie Baker has been hired as our Executive Director.  She will start in her new position in mid April.   

The Tatamagouche Centre is an educational centre focused on leadership development, spiritual deepening and transformational education on both a personal and corporate level.

Josie Baker brings more than 12 years of work experience in the non-profit sector, working for the past six years with the Cooper Institute, a PEI-based non-profit organization, primarily on issues of migrant workers and seed sovereignty.  She has been active in community organizations serving on boards and in leadership roles.  She is committed to social justice, adult education, community development and engaged spirituality.  Josie has a Honours Degree in Religious Studies from Mount Allison, a Graduate Diploma in Community Economic Development from Concordia, and is currently enrolled in a Masters of Adult Education and Community Development Program at Saint Francis Xavier.     

Peter Hough, Chair of the Board says “on behalf of our Board, our Staff and the Tatamagouche Centre Community we welcome Josie Baker as our new Executive Director.  In hiring her, we have passed a key milestone toward our goal of a renewed Centre.  The addition of her professional leadership, skill and enthusiasm on-site will allow us to build on the momentum of the past year and move forward in achieving the goals of our business plan”.

4. Camp Wegesegum – Lifeguard Position

Camp Wegesegum is looking for a lifeguard for a period of ten weeks during camp season.  Rate of pay is $12.50 per hour.  The position is for 40 hours per week plus room.  Scheduling of hours will depend on the nature and schedule of the rental camp for each wee of the season, to be agreed upon by the Lifeguard and the Personnel Director.

5. LLWL Atlantic Learning Unit 3: Pentecost – Preach It! June 2-4, 2017 at Tatamagouche Centre

This is the 3rd seasonal Learning Unit offered for those who are currently serving or recommended by their presbyteries to serve as Licensed Lay Worship Leaders. Details attached. Click here for information.

A day of exploring how faith communities can become strong supporters for mental health will be hosted by the new Maritime Conference Working Group on Mental Health
