To love and serve others ….

Help us with the people who are difficult to love.  Bless us, for a moment, with the grace to see them in the light of your love.

Pray for the life and work of these Pastoral Charges:

Annapolis/Granville, Valley Presbytery
Baie Verte/Port Elgin/Tidnish Bridge, Chignecto Presbytery
Dartmouth: Port Wallis, Halifax Presbytery
Westmount/Leitches Creek, Sydney Presbytery
Barrington, South Shore Presbytery
Emmanuel, Bermuda Synod
Lunenburg, South Shore Presbytery
Faith Memorial, Woolastook Presbytery
Whycocomagh/East Lake Ainslie, Inverness/Guysborough Presbytery

May we, with them, minister with a welcoming heart, a willing spirit, and with hands dedicated to love and serve others.

Let us pray for the Nominations as they continue their work of matching gifts with needs.

Let us pray for our Overseas Personnel who work with partner churches and agencies in ministries of advocacy, education and pastoral ministry.  May God give courage to support them.

For Prayerful Reflection: What do you hear Jesus saying to you when you pray the words, “If you have two coats, give one to the poor…”

Thank you for the prayer for our various United Churches in the Maritimes. Their names are all familiar to me and since they are listed I’m thinking they must be struggling congregations. We must support each other in this changing world. I’m not sure how to reflect and act on this quote from Jesus: “If you have two coats, give one to the poor”. I don’t take this statement literally but to mean, give to the poor all you can with a bit of discernment and wise thinking. Lois MacDougall
