What is AVEL?

AVEL is The United Church of Canada’s video and DVD lending library. Maritime Conference United Church constituents are automatically members of AVEL and can borrow resources without paying a membership fee.

Are you a member of United Church Women, United Church Men, Youth Group, Sunday School or other key organization in your congregation, responsible for providing programming?  If so consider using our services at AVEL for timely resources on spirituality, environmental concerns, social action, stewardship, Bible Study and many, many additional topics.

We started working on this set of songs two years ago and went in the studio in December, 2007. We recorded most of the tracks in one big room at Excello Studios in Brooklyn, the choir singing at one end and the band playing at the other. We hoped to capture our live spirit and still get really fine studio quality tracks. We have sung these tunes all over the world, in malls, on sidewalks and in jail cells too.The dance tunes are special late night subversion opportunities, slip them in that party mix.
