Advent 1: Tell Us About God

REFLECTIONS … is  a weekly one minute video blog featuring the people and places of Maritime Conference. By Janice MacLean, Conference Minister for Christian Nurture & Enrichment   I met my great niece, Marley, in July when she was less than a day old. It was a moment of wordless wonder. She was so new. Her divine spark was so recently kindled; that of God in her was so fresh. I wondered what she knew and she conveyed so much of God without saying a word. I offer you this You Tube video for Advent...

Fall Reflection

I am preparing for this Sunday’s worship, and marveling at how it is already ‘Reign of Christ’, or ‘Christ the King’ Sunday. A week from today, I will be sitting here prepping for my Advent and Christmas services. Life is passing too quickly for my taste!    This fall has been a busy one for me. I should note...

It's All about the Hands

We are happy to offer this Guest Blog, a story written by Bev. Brazier   IT’S ALL ABOUT THE HANDS By Bev Brazier “Ho-lee” Sandy sank into her favourite chair. “What a day” Slathering on her brand new ‘save it for a special day’ hand lotion, (pumpkin pie spice scented, perfect for the season) she inhaled noisily. The smell did its work, and her shoulders relaxed a bit. She reached for the remote, then changed her mind. It had been a crazy day. Maybe scent and silence were best. She sat back, pulled the afghan up...

President’s message

President’s Message  It happened again.  I blinked, and the summer passed me by. I hate when that happens. I realize that the calendar declares January to be the start of the new year, but for me, autumn is its real start. And I think there are many people who echo that sentiment.  Anyway, here I am, mid-September, back in my office, and ready to take on the responsibilities that go along with being clergy in a rural pastoral charge. Meetings happen. Services get planned. The Sunday School teachers gather to coordinate the curriculum and...
