I have to do a shout-out to a company that I recently heard about here in Atlantic Canada. Ya\u2019ll need to know about Affinity Immuno.<\/a> They are a laboratory in Charlottetown in Prince Edward Island and focus on monoclonal antibodies<\/a>, custom chicken polyclonals, and  HGH ELISAs kits<\/a>.  Jon and Amir are two awesome scientists who are trying to help humanity through science and scientific innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winter has arrived!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I learned about them when I was checking out the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA<\/a>). This agency works to create opportunities for economic growth in our region. Sometimes it feels like anything worth happening in this country is happening in Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver. And frankly I\u2019m sure I\u2019m not the only one who feels this way. I do not want to get into the politics of what\u2019s happening in other provinces, but if anyone has read a headline in the past six months, people in Alberta also share some of these feelings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, trust me. I do not support the Alberta-separatist movement. It\u2019s absurd and Daniel what-is-her-face is a proto-Trump who I\u2019m pretty sure is guilty of foreign interference. There\u2019s nothing about her that I like, but the feelings of the people are important. It\u2019s almost like a high school popularity contest, where the big cities are the pretty popular ones and everyone else is left to pick up the scraps. But we\u2019re not in high school, we\u2019re adults now and I\u2019ve never been one to support any type of scarcity mindset. It speak of emotional insecurity, a lack of self-confidence, and immaturity. But I digress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Affinity Immuno recently were chosen with other Atlantic Companies to take part in a Japan and South Korea Mission. I\u2019m sure that one of the reasons of this mission is to push back against the tariffs put onto Canada by the idiot south of us. Canada needs to diversify its economy, we cannot be dependent on the states, because you never know who they\u2019ll elect nowadays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyways, I had the opportunity to speak with Amir about her trip. She was so grateful to go, she said that she had a lovely reception in South Korea but they may face a bit more uphill work in Japan. Don\u2019t get me wrong, Amir was saying that there is opportunity in Japan for them to expand their business, but some bureaucratic maneuvers can take a bit more time in Japan compared to Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hopefully they\u2019ll be able to expand their client base into these two countries, and then hopefully they\u2019ll be able to expand their staff at their laboratory. We always need good reliable jobs here, especially with cool people who are working tirelessly to improve and push scientific progress forward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
